About Us
Crescent Moon Lofts was established in 1962, and we are a family of three fanciers: Dave, Mariam & Lee. Dave started raising pigeons in the 1960s as a boy and flew, raced, and showed his birds. At one time he had 27 different breeds, including Jacobins, Racing Homers, West of England Tumblers, Fantails, and Ice pigeons. Lee started raising pigeons after Dave brought home a Racing Homer with a broken wing whom she took care of in 2006. She started showing her birds in 2012.Below is a list of the breeds we currently raise.
Our Performing/Flying Pigeons
Racing HomersWe raise Racing Homers from the following strains: Del Bar, Janssen, Van Loon, Trenton, and Muleman.
Birmingham Rollers
We raise raise Higgins and Crescent rollers.
Bellneck Rollers
We raise Bellnecks in red and blue.
Performing West of England Tumblers
We raise Performing West of England Tumblers in baldhead colors, from a strain that dates back to the 1940s.
Parlor Rollers
We raise Parlor Rollers in a variety of colors.
Our Show/Exhibition Pigeons
Old Dutch Tumblers
We raise Old Dutch Tumblers in self, whiteside and whitetail colors.
Archangels *CHAMPION BLOODLINE*
We raise Archangels in bronze blackwing and gold blackwing, as well as selfs. We have both crested and plainhead. Our Archangels have been Champion Archangels at the 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2024 Pageant of Pigeons.
Bernhardiner Magpies *CHAMPION BLOODLINE*
We raise Bernhardiner Magpies in blue and black. Our Bernhardiner Magpies have been Champion Bernhardiners at the 2017, 2018, 2024 and 2025 Pageant of Pigeons, as well as Best Color Rare at the 2018, 2024 and 2025 Pageant of Pigeons.
Damascenes *CHAMPION BLOODLINE*
Our Damascenes have been Champion Damascenes at the 2016, 2018, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025 Pageant of Pigeons.
